Visitor's Policy

 RHS Visitor Policy

At Roosevelt High School, we are very concerned about the safety of our students and staff.  Equally, we are very protective of our instructional program, as well as our extra-curricular offerings; therefore, we have put in place the following policies to protect your children’s well-being and teaching/learning opportunities for our students and staff.

ALL CAMPUS VISITORS:

  • Check-in at the front entrance to the school located in the A-Building. Visitors are required to sign the Visitor Log Book.  A Visitor’s Permit will be issued to you and it must be worn at all times while on campus.  The Assistant at the desk will direct you to the appropriate office.
  • Once a visitor is on campus, he/she is expected to only visit the location he/she was initially directed to. Visitors found wandering around the school grounds will be escorted off campus by school security.
  • When you complete your business, please return to the entrance desk, return your Visitor’s Permit and sign-out in the Log Book.

SOME IMPORTANT RULES FOR VISITORS:

  • All parents/guardians who wish to make an appointment to visit their student’s classroom or teacher, must do so through the student’s Counselor.  YOU MAY NOT GO TO THE ROOM DIRECTLY.  If you come in without a prior appointment, you may or may not be able to visit the classroom or teacher on the same day.  When the designated appointment has been arranged, the Counselor will escort you to the room.  The Counselor may or may not stay with you.  When you have finished your visit, please report back to the Counseling Office to inform the Counselor that you have completed your visit.  If after your visit, you wish to conference with the teacher, counselor or administrator, please arrange an appointment through the Counselor.
  • While in the classroom, please be as quiet as possible.  Please do not converse with any students or adults.  Do not interfere with the teacher’s instructional program.

DELIVERIES TO STUDENTS:

  • District and school policy prohibits the interruption of the classroom instructional program at any time during school hours.
  • All deliveries of food, drinks, flowers, balloons, cakes, gifts, etc. will not be accepted at any time during the school day.
  • Students will not be allowed to accept any deliveries at the front door.  NO EXCEPTIONS.
