Dress Code

School Uniform and Dress Code

All students are required to follow the dress code guidelines every day.

These guidelines are designed to help improve school safety, promote a scholarly atmosphere, and support school pride.



Non - Approved


∞    All students must follow dress code during school hours.


∞    The PE uniform may only be worn during PE time.

∞    No gang-related attire.

∞    No clothing that is oversized.

∞    No clothing or jewelry that depicts any gang-style writing, illegal activity, sexually-related or obscene gestures and materials, tobacco, drugs, alcohol, or words, pictures or phrases that depict violence or intimidation.



∞    Roosevelt Rough Rider shirts are encouraged. 

∞    Wednesday is college attire day.

∞    All shirts should be appropriately sized for your body type.

∞    No midriff showing.

∞    No visible undergarments.

∞    No low-cut shirts/ blouses, strapless shirts/ blouses, spaghetti straps, or off-the-shoulder shirts or blouses.

∞    No cut-out-designs or open back.

∞    No sheer or mesh clothing.

Pants, Skirts, Shorts


∞    All shorts and pants must be worn at the waist and the proper size for your body type.


∞    Please note that skirts and shorts must be long enough to extend past the student’s fingertips when the student is standing and arms are extended.


∞    No visible undergarments.

∞    No pajama pants.

∞    No see-through leggings.

∞    No sagging or low-riding shorts and pants.


∞    Students must wear shoes.

∞    No flip flops.

∞    No slippers or house shoes.

∞    No heels taller than 2”.


∞    Roosevelt and solid colored beanies only.


∞    Roosevelt baseball caps (including team hats) and solid colored caps with no logos allowed.

∞    Belts may not contain logos, studs, chains, or initials. The belt buckle may not have letters, logos, etc.

∞    No bandanas.  No hats with logos other than Roosevelt logo.


The principal has the authority to revise the dress code guidelines as necessary.

This is not a complete list of all the acceptable or unacceptable items. These are just examples. The principal has the authority to revise or amend the dress code.
